Paul Hallas has spent his whole career since the early 1980s in and around the energy business. In his time with Centrica (1997-2019), he held senior positions in strategy, commercial, business development / M&A and regulatory areas. Since the middle of 2019, he has been a Director of Sustainable Energy 24 (“SE24”) which is an active member of Community Energy London. One of his main roles there has been in new project development, both rooftop solar and LED lighting installation, working closely with other CEL members such as SELCE. He has also been involved in mentoring Community Energy organisations which have joined CEL more recently. Paul now has an energy sector ‘portfolio’ career which includes the following:
- Non-Executive Director (NED) at the Retail Energy Code Company;
- NED at the Manchester Energy Network;
- NED and later Advisory Board member (2017-22) at IRT Surveys, a provider of energy efficiency services with a focus on social housing
- Advisory Board member at Gasuna Technologies, an energy sector start-up and
- As an independent consultant working for energy companies, service providers, large energy consumers and national energy regulators, with a strong focus on the transition towards Net Zero.
