Round 1 opened on 17 January 2019 and deadline for applications is 18:00 on 18 February 2019. Round 2 is expected to launch in the summer.

Not-for-profit organisations and community groups can apply for sums of between £2,000 and £20,000 for initiatives that combat fuel poverty, improve the energy efficiency of community spaces or support people in vulnerable circumstances.

This is thanks to Power Partners, a £300,000 per year community investment fund from UK Power Networks, the company that owns and maintains electricity infrastructure in the South East, East of England and London.

The new grant scheme, which launched on 17th January and is managed by CSE, will give significant support to up to 40 not-for-profit organisations in UK Power Network’s region.

CSE’s Ellie Stevens said: “We’re delighted that UK Power Networks have chosen us to manage their new grant fund.

“Power Partners represents a sizeable investment in both the income maximisation of vulnerable households – for example though tariff switching or the provision of energy advice training – and the energy efficiency improvement of community spaces through the installation of insulation, low-energy lighting, solar panels and so on”.
