Fuel Poverty Action is hiring a part-time Campaigns Intern! They are a small, grassroots campaigning group that fights for climate action, an end to fuel poverty, and social justice, with an emphasis on warm, safe housing.

Job role:
- Speak to MPs, trade unions and campaigning organisations – building a network round the issue.
- Organise events, from conferences to direct actions
- Work with residents in affected buildings to win the protection they need from both fire and cold, from their Housing Association and local authority.
- Liaise with leaseholders fighting for their right to a safe building without having to pay tens of thousands of pounds to remedy a problem not of their making.
- Keep abreast of issues related to flammable cladding
- Update our social media (both Facebook and Twitter)
- Research, write and edit internal documents, as well as blogs, articles and briefings.
- Perform basic administrative tasks (e.g. organising contacts lists etc.)
Experience and Skills (university degree is not required):
- A strong commitment to social justice and fighting climate change
- Experience of grassroots organising
- Research and writing experience (doesn’t need to be degree level or professional, can be a personal blog, just need to have evidence of your abilities!)
- IT skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, Gmail, Google Docs, Mailchimp etc.)
- Social media skills and experience
- Experience of organising events
