Description

Near 100 councils across the country have now declared Climate Emergency. In London this includes the boroughs of GreenwichSouthwarkLambethNewhamHaringeyEalingTower HamletsWaltham Forest and also the Greater London Authority. In addition, petitions are now in place for similar action in CamdenIslington ,Merton, and Westminster.

Community energy groups across London have been actively working in their areas to deliver innovative carbon reduction and fuel poverty alleviation projects. The Mayor has supported groups through the introduction of the London Community Energy Fund (LCEF) with other 30 projects now in play across the capital – and more projects planned.

Community Energy in a Climate Emergency will explore how councils and communities can work together to deliver energy and climate projects and set out longer term strategies to move towards zero carbon
