List of Contractors and Service Providers

To help CEL members identify suitable companies to deliver their projects, CEL has created a directory of contractors and service providers, previously used and named by our member groups based in London. These companies can be found in the table below. The technologies and services provided are found on the left hand side. Scroll down the table or type keywords into the search function to define your search further.

Companies may provide other services, or work with other technologies than those displayed below, however, the table shows the capacity member groups have used these companies in. These companies have been identified via a survey of CEL members in June 2021 and again in August 2022. CEL will continue to liaise with its members to update this list over time.

CEL does not ourselves recommend or endorse any of the contractors, persons or companies listed here, and cannot be held responsible if your choice does not meet your particular requirements or expectations. These companies listed have been named by our member groups and are displayed on their behalf.

The following companies are not listed in any particular order and it is recommended you conduct your own research before choosing anyone to do work for you.

Tips for identifying contractors are set out below:

  • Make sure companies have the appropriate accreditations in place, if applicable, and understand the rules behind accreditations. For example, a company installing renewables up to 50kW should be MCS certified. Always obtain at least three quotations for the works, and ensure these are in writing, with a breakdown of works to be undertaken to compare. Remember cheapest is not always best.
  • If an installer is stating that you will get high returns from the energy generated/ saved as a result of the project, get them to put this in writing and show their workings out. All contracts, performance estimates, quotes etc should be provided in writing.
  • Check out the terms of any warranties, as well as an installer’s business insurance and their after sales processes, in case anything goes wrong. Choose established contractors with premises. Ensure you have addresses and contact details of contractors.
  • Agree payment terms before the work commences. Consider paying, where possible, by credit card; this gives you extra protection if the work is not satisfactory.
  • Ask if the company has undertaken any similar completed projects that you can view. Make sure you speak to previous customers for their comments; were they happy with the work? Was it started and completed on time? Was the final bill in line with the estimate?
