Community Energy London Ltd (CEL) is a Community Benefit Society, established in 2017, to support new and existing London community energy groups through hosting regular events, sharing best practice and capacity raising, securing resources and raising the profile of the sector. Our belief is that community energy groups are stronger when working together. We have been holding monthly meetings since 2017.

- Bridge Financing of Community Energy – Tim Stumpff will present a recent initiative by an informal group of impact investors providing philanthropic short-term loans to community energy groups. They have provided loans/commitments to a wide range of CE groups in the past nine months (e.g., Bath & West, Grimsby, Solar For Schools, Brighton & Hove, others) – ranging in size from under £70,000 to £500,000. No minimum size (e.g., looking at a £25,000 loan to cover grid connection costs). They are interested in supporting further projects.
