What's included?
Our membership categories have been re-structured to reflect the wide range of organisations that make up the community energy landscape. These now include community energy groups, community groups, local authorities, and businesses or other organisations.
Organisations should have a focus on delivering one of the following:
- Low carbon energy systems
- Promoting environmental awareness, carbon reduction and energy efficiency
- Tackling Fuel Poverty
All member groups will have equal voting rights, and be charged £1 to join.
Organisations not eligible for membership can sponsor CEL – please contact us for more information on this.

Sponsorship Opportunities
We would welcome sponsorship from organisations looking to support the growth of community energy including those that align with their ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) goals.
Opportunities include sponsoring CEL’s annual conference or other regular events we hold; supporting the production of research and reports; or a number of other activities.
The CEL Board will conduct due diligence on applicants and will be delighted to work with applicants who share the aims and ethos of Community Energy London.

We hold a monthly members meeting to discuss a range of topics including local and national sector updates. We often invite expert speakers and also host training sessions on a range of topics, from technical energy issues to community engagement strategies.
