Fuel Poverty and Energy Advice Workshops 5/6 – Reaching the hard to reach

28 October 2022 @ 12:30 PM - 1:30 PM

This event has passed.

This is the fifth of six lunchtime workshops taking place over a six month period, designed for community groups and voluntary organisations who want to host an energy advice project in their local area and provide practical support and guidance for those living in fuel poverty. You’ll hear from sector specialists, meet others on a similar road and come away with useful tips.

This event looks at how organisations best connect with those who do not often seek out help, but generally are the most in need? How can community energy advice and fuel poverty alleviation projects work most effectively with minimal resources but huge, and increasing need?

We will hear about research that can shed some light on good practice and ways to reach these households to be able to support them and gain positive outcomes for them around energy costs and stopping energy wastage. We will also hear about different organisations and approaches that work in different ways to reach those most in need, never more vital than now in the cost of living crisis and climate emergency during the cold season.

There will be lightning talks on this subject and time to quiz our expert panel about doing the seemingly impossible to connect and take action with those hard to reach.
